Take the Week Without Driving PA Pledge & advocate for better mobility options for non-drivers in Pennsylvania!
Whether we live in suburban towns or city neighborhoods, everyone in Pennsylvania deserves safe, reliable, dignified access to the places we need to go. Across the state, 30% of our friends and neighbors don’t drive a car. The Week Without Driving is a nationwide movement to link the needs of disabled individuals and people of all ages with environmental movements and accessible community planning. Together, we will illustrate challenges and opportunities for non-drivers and call for change that improves mobility for all.
Join us in pledging to take a Week Without Driving PA. You can participate as an individual, organization, or elected official. Find out more and get involved at the Week WIthout Driving PA website: https://weekwithoutdrivingpa.org/

PENNSYLVANIA WWD COALITION PROMPTS
The Pennsylvania contingent also proposes the following daily prompts for reflection. They are somewhat more concrete than those from AmericaWalks. All are good! Feel free to use any or all:
- Monday – What would you do if you needed to take some clothes to the dry cleaner without driving? Could you get there? Could you transport a winter coat and two tablecloths using active modes?

- Tuesday – How would you go to school or pick up a child from school without driving? Would this just be an easy option, one in fact you might find to be preferable to sitting in interminable car pick-up lines? Or would it be nearly impossible to accomplish safely and in good time?

- Wednesday – Can you get yourself to a grocery store without driving? What does that involve? Does your routine have to change because of how much you could carry? Where is that shopping trolley your nan used to have anyway?

- Thursday – What are your options for getting to either the dentist or the eye doctor without a car? Would it be possible? Would it lead you to choose a different service provider if you knew you would not be driving?

- Friday – What does dinner and a movie look like if you are not driving? A fun night out or a complicated slog?

- Saturday – Time to make a trip to the library. Can you and your book buddy get there without driving? Even if you have a very tall stack of books?

- Sunday – Know any good hiking or bike trails you like to visit? What would be involved in getting there without driving?

- BONUS – Do you have a story of an epic non-driving journey you wound up making? How did it come about?
